When I think of the definition of a BOSS, one of the first people who come to mind is Malia Lazu. She can cuss about the litter she’s tired of seeing on the street, and then can beautifully pitch your own business idea to you before you even have it solidified.

That’s what makes her Malia though.
She’s genuine. She’s informed. And she puts in the work.

Activist, civic organizer and all-around innovator, Malia Lazu is the Founder and President of Epicenter Communitya community that embodies the values of authentic diversity, the art of real conversation and inclusive collaboration, while delivering positive impact within the Boston community. Previously, Malia started MassVOTE at 19 years old, has worked on national political campaigns, was a Community Innovators Fellow at MIT and the co-founder and executive director of Future Boston Alliance.

On today’s episode we’re talking about the nonprofit sector, neighborhoods, and the first-year experience seeing your very own community change before your eyes.
